On Love
"God is love"
- 1 John 4:8
"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends."

Here's an acronym of LOVE that I have put together:
L - Love fulfils the law of God (Gal. 5:14, Rom. 13:8).
O - Obedience to Christ is a necessary result of love for Christ (Jn. 14:15).
V - Vine-abiding equals spiritual fruitfulness (Jn. 15:4).
E - Eternal life is through Christ alone (1 Jn. 5:11-12).
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

We love God because of who He is. Indeed, His very nature is love.
We love our neighbour not based on who they are but because of who we are called to be, by the enablement of His transforming grace.
All glory always be to God who delivered us out of the power of darkness,
and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love - Hallelujah!
