For the Cause of Christ

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
- Romans 8:35

In line with the spirit of the exhortation in Hebrews 13:3, may we continually remember, pray for and stand with our brothers and sisters in Christ, undergoing persecution in over 60 countries around the globe. Here is a song written for the persecuted church:

FOR THE CAUSE OF CHRIST

In the Name of Christ redeemed,
In His Spirit energised,
To a lost, sin-ravaged world, the ransomed boldly testify
To the Way, the Truth, the Life.

For the cause of Christ, they live;
For the cause of Life they die;
Tortured, wounded, beaten, bruised - the truth of God rings clearer still:
Jesus Christ is Prince of Life.

In all suffering for His Name,
Counted worthy, saints rejoice,
More than conquerors, heirs indeed, advancing further Jesus' fame,
Destined for the crown of Life.

Tribulations for a time;
Everlasting glory then.
In this transient, passing world, we set our eyes on things unseen,
Raised with Christ, the Word of life.

Neither death, nor life, nor powers
Can separate us from His love.
Preaching Good News far and near, the gates of hell shall not prevail
'Gainst the Church of Christ the King!
Preaching Good News far and near, the gates of hell shall not prevail
'Gainst the Church of Christ the King!
