Be Exalted O God Above the Heavens!

By Patricia Newman

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth!        Psalm 57:11

Hallelujah!
My soul, praise the Lord.
I will praise the Lord all my life;

I will sing to my God as long as I live.    Psalm 146:1-2

Eternal God, most holy God
Gracious heavenly Father, Almighty God,
As the year that You have given draws to a close,
How can I fully thank You for all
That You have done for me?
What can I worthily render
For bestowments known and unknown?

For every breath, for countless mercies,
For every provision, for every comfort in trials,
For every promise of Scripture, for the pure light of Your word,
For the unerring counsel of Your word, for the precious leading of Your Holy Spirit,
Ceaselessly, my heart shall bless You.

Be Exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let Your glory be over all the earth! (Psalm 57: 5)

For the love and blessing of family and friends, for the fellowship of the brethren,
For the joy and blessedness of belonging to Your family through Christ,
For unity with our blessed Redeemer Jesus, for the unsearchable riches of Christ,
For Your unspeakable love and faithful nearness, for daily grace received at Your hand,
I praise Your holy name.

Glorious God, most merciful Father, in this coming year,
I commit myself, my family and my all into Your hand.
Eternal Rock of Ages, on You I wholly and happily depend.
My Maker and my Sustainer, order my every step in accordance with Your holy will,
Cause my eyes to be unwaveringly set upon Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith,
Grant me the divine grace to set aside every hindrance and all besetting sins
That I may keep running with endurance the race set before me.

Conform me, Lord, as You graciously predestined, to the likeness of Your Son.
Grant all needed grace that my mind will be on things above, not on earthly things,
May Your holy will be my grand and consummate preoccupation,
Grant me, Lord, repentance from every dead work,
And the grace to abide in the Vine continually, so that
All that I do is by Your commission and Your divine enablement,
Bearing spiritual fruit continually in season
For the great glory of Your holy and mighty name, in Jesus name, Amen.

Thank You, Lord for Your Church. Bless Your faithful ministers. Bless Your saints.
May we continually fear, love and adore You.
The days darken further and discouragement threatens,
But I thank You, Lord, because despondency cannot take root,
For You are the God of all hope.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35 – 39)

Thank You, Lord God, that despite horrid and widespread apostasy in the professing church,
Your remnant Church, the true Church is unstoppable,
Being built on the Rock by Your own hand.
Thank You, Father, that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ!
