For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Welcome to The Blessed Hope!

My name is Patricia Newman. I am married to a wonderful man, Steven, and we have been greatly blessed with five children two of whom are on the autistic spectrum.

All praise be to God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit!  My all-consuming passion is my Lord and my Saviour, Jesus Christ. For me, to write is Christ. To speak is Christ. Christ is life. Christ is All.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Philippians 1:21

How about you? Are you are an earnest seeker and lover of our Lord Jesus? If not, I encourage you and I plead with you to pursue truth and to make peace with God. This is vital. Do not be content until you know the truth that will make you free. Without knowing and walking in the truth, we remain in bondage to the great enemy of our souls - Satan. I pray that God will give you a new heart and a new will, cleansing you from sin. I pray that the Lord God will put His Holy Spirit within you and cause you to walk in His commandments - Ezekiel 36:25-27. I pray that God will grant you a love of truth. The Bible says that people perish because they have not received a love of the truth - 2 Thessalonians 2:10.  

Life is a gift and time is short. Friend, I pray that you come to know closely the One who not only made you but who sustains you daily. God is holy and He abhors all sin. He will judge sinners but He has, in His great goodness and mercy, made marvellous provision in Christ, for your salvation. He desires that you turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God. You were created for His glory.

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created"
Revelation 4:11

You must know God's will for your life and walk in it. This begins with knowing God. You can only know God as He has revealed Himself in His book - the Bible. May the Holy Spirit of God guide you as you study His precious word preserved for you. 

I pray, dear reader, that you are not a mere professor of the name of Christ. Many that call themselves Christians sadly are deceived and are not walking in the truth. The Bible says:
"...as He is so are we in this world" 
1 John 4:17

The holy nature of our Blessed Saviour is increasingly and wonderfully reproduced and seen in the life of a true Christian. The fruit of the Holy Spirit is increasingly manifest in the life of a true believer. It is the work of God's divine grace. The grace of God that has saved us also teaches us to reject ungodly ways and enables us to live holy lives here on earth. The change wrought is so radical as to merit the description: new creation. Christ gave Himself for us that He might save us from all sin and that "He might purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works" (Titus 2:14).How wonderful is God's plan for His people!!

The purpose of this blog is the honour and glory of God. Blogging, for me, is one way of  spreading the glorious message of salvation through repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ alone. 

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."
Romans 1:16-17

The Blessed Hope blog will consistently warn against false Christianity because love warns. God is love and the Bible is replete with warnings against falsehood and apostasy. The Blessed Hope blog very much aims to encourage and edify fellow believers with the eternal, inerrant and precious word of God. What immeasurable treasure we have in the word of God!

I believe that it is God's will that we make God and His wonderful deeds known to our children - Psalm 78:3-4, Mark 16:15.  We must teach them the truths of God's word diligently. It is a high calling indeed to be a Christian parent. So help us Lord God. Accordingly, I will be uploading many Christian family and educational resources that I hope will be a help and a blessing to Christian families. 

My prayer is that you will find this online Christian resource a place of biblical inspiration, encouragement, warning and exhortation along the blessed and narrow path ordained by God. My prayer for you, friend, is that you enter or have entered by the "narrow gate" and that you remain on that blessed "narrow road". There are many paths on the "broad road" but they all lead to eternal death.


Finally, through this blog, I also share some of the devotional songs that I write by His grace. To God alone be the glory!
